About Me

Drew (40) and I (49) are a disabled poly d/s couple new to homesteading and prepping... just moved here outside Palestine in Feb 2010

and signed the contract on our place in April 2010. We currently have a small 16x24 cabin with composting

toilet for when it is too cold or too dark to head up to the bath house... 4 rv sites... smaller cabin

with loft my mentally challenged nephew Johnny (21)and son Bobby (30) is living in ...bathhouse with one toilet and 2 showers and

6 wooded acres. Our wedding was in Dallas on Sat Jan 22nd 2011 (2yrs and 1 day after we met). This past year

we had a container herb garden... raised cucumber and tomatoe garden and some free range chickens which

we won't do again as the dogs ate them (we run a dog rescue). We plan to add 2 bedrooms and a bath onto our cabin.

Our plans for 2011 include rain water collection... rechanneling

our gray water... dog proof chicken coop and run... new chickens for eggs... enlarging our garden and compost

areas...learning more about canning/dehydrating food... solar shower on outside of bath water

heat for our kitchen which currently only has cold water and adding some type of bathroom in the current cabin

so we have a tub due to our physical issues. I am very interested in Intentional Communities and would love to

find a couple like minded folks to live out here with air heat system ...building a greenhouse

and having milk goats as well. Since we are on Soc Sec... it will just depend on our cash situation. If anyone

is near by in East TX we would love to make friends and we are looking forward to learning.

I looked at all your photos and could have commented on everyone of them. I can see why you love where you live. I love trees also and the peaceful feeling you get in a more woodsy setting. Keep them coming :)

I just clicked on the photos button at the top of your profile. It took me to your photo page. It says MsDawn has no photos yet. Therefore if you, being signed in, clicked on that page (photos) you should find the option to "add" photos. Should be easy. give it a try. Plus, I upgraded to the premium web site, and have a new domain name. . That name should be automatically change for all members too I hope :)

I think all you have to do is create a folder (example MsDawn's photos) and upload. Let me know if you have any problems :)

Greeting MsDawn. You and your family are so welcome to the site. Sounds like you are really getting involve with sustainable living. I hope to be doing the same things myself someday. I am so new to and excited about the small house and sustainable living movement but am embarrassed to say that I am such a novice concerning it all. I hope to learn all that I can from people such as yourself. If there is anything that I can do to be of help to you, please feel free to ask.
